Due to this, fertilizers were arranged for the farm and additional income is also available by selling milk. Earlier, farmers reared cows and buffaloes according to their needs, but today cow-buffalo rearing is seen from the point of view of business.

In Indian tradition, cow's milk has been described as nectar because it contains many types of nutrients, which can cure all the diseases of the human body. Top 10 High Demanding Milk Producing Cattle Breeds in India

1. Gir: That cow of Indian breed, whose demand is very high not only in the country but also abroad. Gir cow is very famous in countries like Israel to Brazil, whose origin is related to the Gir forests of Gujarat. It has got the title of the most milch cow, which can give 50 to 80 liters of milk in a day. It completely depends on the care of the cow and good animal feed. Its milk is considered very nutritious. It can undoubtedly be called high milk yielding cow in India.

2. Sahiwal: This is also an indigenous breed of cow, which is making the farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana very rich these days. By taking good care of Sahiwal cow, one can get 15 to 25 liters of milk in a day and 2000 to 3000 liters of milk in a year. Sahiwals who do dairy business keep cows due to production of large quantity of milk.

3. Red Sindhi: This red colored cow was found only in Sindh region. Due to being milky, its popularity increased and from today it has established its roots in Punjab, Haryana, UP to Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Orissa and Tamil Nadu. By taking good care of Red Sindhi cow, milk production can be taken up to 8 to 10 liters per day. Red Sindhi cow is a very good option for dairy farming.

4. Rathi: The most beautiful of Rathi breed Dushi cows, qualities are found in Sahibal. Rathi cow can give more milk even by eating less. The skin of Rathi cow is very attractive. Its face is slightly broad. Rathi cow is of medium size, which appears brown or black in color with white patches. Its horns are of medium size, which are found curved outward, upward and inward. Its tail is very long. It can give good milk in less feed. Up to 6-8 liters easily.

5. Ongole: These cows are milky, beautiful and sweet. They are found in the areas of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Guntur, Nilore, Bapattala and Sadanpalli. This breed is one of the high milk producing cow breeds in India

6. Deoni: Found in South Andhra Pradesh and Hinsol. The bulls of this breed have the ability to carry heavy loads.

7. Kankrej: The region from south-west of Sindh to Ahmedabad and Radhanpura is the native place of Kankrej cows. They are also found in Kathiawar, Baroda and Surat. Their color is silvery brown, lohia brown or black. The legs have black markings and the upper parts of the hooves are black. 

8. Tharparkar: Tharparkar cow found in Gujarat and Rajasthan is also indigenous and strong breed. It is also called the support of small farmers, because Tharparkar cow can give 10 to 15 liters of milk every day in a low dose. This cow belongs to Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur, but now its popularity is increasing across the country.

9. Hariana: It gives 8-12 liters of milk per day. The color of cows is white, pearl or light brown. They are of high stature and muscular body and walk with their heads raised. Their receiving place is Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa, Karnal, Gurgaon and Jind. Haryanvi breed comes in the five best breeds of India.

10. Krishna Valley: The Krishna Valley breed of cattle is used exclusively in the black cotton soil of the watershed of the River Krishna and other adjacent rivers such as Ghatprabha and Malprabha in the southern portions of Bombay State and Krishna Valley tract of Hyderabad State of India. The breed is found in the districts of Satara, Belgaum, Dharwar and parts of Bijapur of Bombay State and also in the native States of Miraj, Sangli, Kolhapur and Jamkhindi which are now part of Bombay State also. They are also bred in the southwestern part of Hyderabad State.  on account of contributions form Gir and Ongole it has also potentialities of milk production. However, the milk-producing capacity is extremely variable in the breed.
